With Rob camping with us at Denny Wood for the first time in his van I miss out on the mountain biking as Rob goes with Mag and they find Brockenhurst :)I did manage an hour walk in the forest seeing a deer. So after lunch in the wood we head for Lepe again as Rob has never kited there. My orginal plan was to go to Weymouth for a couple of days to try the harbour speed strip but the forescast was not brilliant and we did'nt want to get in the holiday traffic !!! A good decision as we had a brilliant day,we parked at the far left of the carpark where a couple of kiters were already out by the shingle bar.Rob put up his 13m kite while I went for the x-15 7m even if it did take 3 of us to rig it - all those cambers.I set off after Rob who was already at the bar so Mag could take some pics of us together in the flatwater :) but made the mistake of heading over to the Isle of Wight first (I just cant help myself) The farther I went out the less wind there was and the stronger the tide and I ended up miles downwind of Rob !!! I beat back to the lagoon to have a great time sailing with Rob,I just tried to go fast and learn to gybe the 90 lt board while Rob showed off his jumping skills :) Then when the 13m was becoming abit of a handfull and football just starting on the radio we returned for tea and cake.I then beat up to the Beaulieu river, passing through dozens of racing yachts which was brilliant.I then went for my best mile time by sailing the 3 miles to Gurnard(I of W ) flat out which is the most fun you can ever have - I improved my n/mile time by a couple of knots to 25.67 !!! even if I was abit disappointed in my max speed. On the return I passed a yacht with a huge spinnacker a couple of feet astern !!! So a top day sailing in one of my favourite spots then off for fish and chips at Hurst casle :)
